The Darlings are back and they’re in love!
Victoria and Jack are hot and heavy, at least for a while.
Not long after their romance begins Victoria starts to realize that it seems as
if Jack would rather spend time with his friends and doing things a songwriter
ought to be doing than spend time with her. Sure, he wants to be around
Victoria but he wants her to do the things he always wants to do and never vis
versa. This is quickly getting on Victoria's nerves.
After the disaster with Colin (him making Natalya choose
between him or his sister) Natalya is down in the dumps. Colin was the perfect
boy to her. But all of a sudden Colin is making appearances in her life again
and is soon talking to her like nothing ever happened. Natalya’s heart soars
until Colin mentions that he “sort of has a girlfriend.” How could this be
possible?!
Jane meets super cute Simon at her school and is thrown into
doing a scene with him for their school’s night of great love scenes with Mark
as the director. Jane is immediately
attracted to Simon. He’s handsome and sweet, what’s not to love? Simon seems to
be in to Jane too but he’s keeping a secret that might put a damper on their
budding relationship.
This was a great second book in The Darlings series. I’m not
exactly sure how many books Melissa plans to write about The Darlings but I am
sure loving these books! I read The Darlings Are Forever last year and I didn’t
even know this book existed so I was definitely excited to find it at the
library. I was even more excited when it turned out to be just as good as the
first book, maybe even a little better. What can I say, I’m a sucker for love
stories. I love Victoria, Natalya, and Jane too of course. They all have such
different personalities and I love how close of friends they are and how they
don’t let boys interfere with their long lasting friendship. I’d recommend this
book to anyone looking for a good contemporary read full of best friends, some
drama, and boys!
