New Blogger, check her out!
Her blog is called The Undercover Book Lover. Isn't that a super cute name? I think it's great. I checked it out and I love it. She has a really awesome grading system for her reviews that really breaks the book down, her layout is adorable, and she's just over all really awesome! I think she has an excellent future in book blogging so I think all of you should check her out! :)
(I've seen a few other bloggers post about Reggie's blog already so sorry if this post seems repetitive. I wanted to be nice and promote Reggie's blog!)
Mrs. Magoo Reads
I have to say that I'm a fan of hers. I love her honest reviews and whenever I see a new one up I read it when I have the chance. And what's really awesome about her blog is the fact that she always has more than one contest going on! How awesome is that? Right now she has a few going on and the biggest is that she's giving away 9 books to one person! Just one person, crazy right? You can find the post to the contest here. In the post it mentions which books that she's giving away. And let me tell you, there are some great books on that list.
If I were you I'd head over there ASAP because the contest ends on August 8th I believe. So that would be next Saturday. And if you're smart you'd become a follower so you can keep up on her awesome reviews and the new contests that she posts. Go check her out!

Woah, buddy
Now for some more news for all of you. I am currently in Oregon. Gearheart, Oregon to be exact. I can see the beach through the balcony window in the hotel as I type this. It's so pretty. I love the ocean. My girls love it too! I'd post a picture but they're all on my cell and I have yet to send them to my email so I can put them on the computer. Plus I'm on my sister's laptop right now anyway so that wouldn't work too well. Oh and some other exciting news. My girls LOVE the pool! They took to it like little fish I swear! They absolutely love the water. I need to get them in a swimming class ASAP!
I've been getting some reading done while I'm here too. I finished The Boyfriend List and have moved on to The Boy Book, soon to be followed by my ARC of The Treasure Map of Boys if I end up getting that far. I love Ruby Oliver, she's the best! I can't believe I haven't started reading this series earlier. I also brought along Zombie Blondes. So if I finish with TTMOB and get really crazy on the 3 hour car ride on the way home I might start reading that too! When I get home I'll have a bunch of reviews to write. So look out for those in another week or two. Yay! I hope all of you are having a great week. And congratulations to Stephanie Kuehnert on her release of Ballads of Suburbia! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy :)

Win an ARC of THE HOLLOW!!!
I have to say that I am highly excited about this. Ever since I first heard about The Hollow a couple months back I have been dieing to get my hands on a copy! I know that when it's released it'll be huge. I expect to hear lots and lots of The Hollow talk going around the blogger world :)
Now if you do go over and enter be sure to tell Lee that I (Breanna) sent you. You need to do this because then I will be entered to win one of a very few amount of The Hollow t-shirts that Lee has and for a copy of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving! I'd love to be entered at least once. So if even one of you head over there and leave a comment on the contest blog saying that I sent you I'd have one entry! What's also awesome about this contest is that you can comment as many times as you'd like. Each comment equals an entry. Neat, huh? The number of comments is already close to 3000. Insane! So go head over there and start leaving comments! Remember that the contest ends on July 26th.

In My Mailbox (4)
This was a pretty awesome week for me. I got in the mail...The Treasure Map of Boys, Spring Breakup, A Non-Blonde Cheerleader In Love, and I got The Boyfriend List from the library. I won A Non-Blonde Cheerleader in love off of the Books, Boys, Buzz blog from Stephanie Hale. She also was generous enough to send me a copy of Spring Breakup, yay!
The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart. Published March 2005
Ruby Oliver is 15 and has a shrink. She knows it’s unusual, but give her a break—she’s had a rough 10 days. In the past 10 days she: lost her boyfriend (#13 on the list), lost her best friend (Kim), lost all her other friends (Nora, Cricket), did something suspicious with a boy (#10), did something advanced with a boy (#15), had an argument with a boy (#14), drank her first beer (someone handed it to her), got caught by her mom (ag!), had a panic attack (scary),lost a lacrosse game (she’s the goalie), failed a math test (she’ll make it up), hurt Meghan’s feelings (even though they aren’t really friends), became a social outcast (no one to sit with at lunch)and had graffiti written about her in the girls’ bathroom (who knows what was in the boys’!?!). But don’t worry—Ruby lives to tell the tale. And make more lists.
A Non-Blonde Cheerleader In Love by Kieran Scott Published May 2008
Non-blonde cheerleader Annisa Gobrowski has a major boy problem: The Sand Dune High National Championship cheerleading squad has gone coed, and not everyone is happy about it. As if dealing with her teammates freaking out over the guy cheerleaders wasn't enough stress, her boyfriend, Daniel, just signed up. At first Annisa is psyched to be spending more time with Daniel, and stunting with the guys is pretty cool. But then the battle of the sexes starts to heat up, and Annisa is caught between her squadmates and the guys. Can one non-blonde figure out a way to keep the girls from killing the guys? Or will the battle turn into an all-out cheer-war?
Spring Breakup by Stephanie Hale Published March 2009
Aspen Brooks trades in sand between her toes for shopping on The Strip when she agrees to go to Las Vegas for spring break with her boyfriend, Rand, her bff, Angel, and Angel’s bf, Lucas. Their hotel is hosting the Miss Teen Queen Pageant and surgically enhanced beauty contestants are everywhere. But when Miss Illinois goes AWOL, it’s up to Aspen to represent her home state and find out what’s really going on. Even if it means putting down the suntan lotion and ignoring Angel’s meltdown over breaking up with Lucas.
The Treasure Map of Boys by E. Lockhart Publishing date July 28th, 2009
Ruby is back at Tate Prep, and it's her thirty-seventh week in the state of Noboyfriend. Her panic attacks are bad, her love life is even worse, and what's more: Noel is writing her notes, Jackson is giving her frogs, Gideon is helping her cook, and Finn is making her brownies. Rumors are flying, and Ruby's already sucky reputation is heading downhill. Not only that, she's also: running a bake sale, learning the secrets of heavy metal therapy, ecountering some seriously smelly feet, defending the rights of pygmy goats, and bodyguarding Noel from unwanted advances. In this companion novel to The Boyfriend List and The Boy Book, Ruby struggles to secure some sort of mental health, to understand what constitutes a real friendship, and-if such a thing exists-to find true love.

Suite Scarlett
Review: Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson
Released: May 2008
Pages: 353
Publisher: Point
Grade: A
Scarlett lives in the Hopewell Hotel with her family that consists of two sisters and a brother and of course her parents. Lola and Spencer are a few years older than Scarlett and Marlene is a few years younger than Scarlett. Now people might be led to believe that living in a hotel would be glamorous. Well in this case it isn't really so. Scarlett's family runs the hotel so they all have a responsibility. When the children reach a certain age they become in charge of a suite. Of course on Scarlett's birthday she is given a suite and on the same day a lady checks in to that room. Enter Mrs. Amberson. She's a slightly odd lady who has many stories to tell about back in the day when she tried to be an actress on broadway.
While Scarlett is running around the city doing errands for Mrs. Amberson her brother, Spencer, is trying desperately to find an acting job and quick. He somehow finds one but it's not really a paying job (and that's what he needs). It's a role in the classic Hamlet. His new stage partner is named Eric. Eric has just moved to the big city and immediately takes a liking to Scarlett when they first meet.
When something happens to the rehearsal space that the Hamlet cast needs to rehearse in, and Scarlett suggests that they use the basement of the Hopewell for rehearsal things start to get a little crazy. Especially when Mrs. Amberson ends up covering for them at one point and then appoints herself to be some sort of assistant director. Meanwhile the Hopewell runs out of guests and everything just seems to be falling apart around Scarlett. Will things start to look up and will the play actually end up happening?
This was an incredibly cute read. I love Maureen's writing. I've only read a couple other books by her but I've loved each one. She just has such a creative writing style. Scarlett and Spencer were the perfect brother and sister team in this book. They were so in tune to each other. Even Lola was great and the little spoiled brat Marlene was enjoyable too. I felt so bad for Scarlett in the beginning of the book when she just wanted to find a regular paying job instead of spending the Summer couped up at the Hopewell. Once she met Eric and Mrs. Amberson though I knew she'd end up having an eventful Summer. This book was just all around great. It was a nice light and summery type of read that was full of humor. I have to say I'm really excited for the sequel now!
In My Mailbox (3)
In My Mailbox was started by Kristi over at The Story Siren. She's an awesome book blogger!
This week I only received one book and it was L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad. I'm super excited to read this one! I will be reviewing it for teensreadtoo. I'm not even a big fan of The Hills or any of those reality type shows that Lauren is/was on. But I'm excited to see if she can write a good book!
L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad. (synopsis taken from book jacket)
Los Angeles is all about the sweet life: hot clubs, cute guys, designer . . . everything. Nineteen-year-old Jane Roberts can't wait to start living it up. She may be in L.A. for an internship, but Jane plans to play as hard as she works, and has enlisted her BFF Scarlett to join in the fun. When Jane and Scarlett are approached by a producer who wants them to be on his new series, a "reality version of Sex and the City," they can hardly believe their luck. Their own show? Yes, please! Soon Jane is TV's hottest star. Fame brings more than she ever imagined possible for a girl from Santa Barbara—free designer clothes, the choicest tables at the most exclusive clubs, invites to Hollywood premieres—and she's lapping up the VIP treatment with her eclectic entourage of new pals. But those same friends who are always up for a wild night are also out for a piece of Jane's spotlight. In a city filled with people chasing after their dreams, it's not long before Jane wakes up to the reality that everyone wants something from her, and nothing is what it seems to be.
Doesn't this book sound great? I think it'll be a perfect summery type read. :)
